A man bit another man's hand, and when the bitten man pulled his hand away, the biter's two front teeth fell out. They brought their dispute to the Prophet ﷺ, who said, "Does one of you bite his brother the way a stallion bites? There is no compensation for you."Then Allah revealed, "And wounds are subject to legal retribution" [Maidah 5:45].
حدثنا علي بن خشرم أنبأنا عيسى بن يونس عن شعبة عن قتادة قال سمعت زرارة بن أوفى يحدث
أن رجلا عض يد رجل فنزع يده فوقعت ثنيتاه فاختصما إلى النبي ﷺ فقال يعض أحدكم أخاه كما يعض الفحل لا دية لك فأنزل الله {والجروح قصاص}
Agreed upon. Bukhari transmitted it in the Book of Blood Money, chapter, "If a man bites another and his front teeth fall out," no. 6892, and Muslim, no. 1673, from the hadith of Shubah through this chain.On this topic there are also narrations from Yaala bin Umaya [Bukhari, no. 1847, 2265, and Muslim, no. 1674] and Salama bin Umaya [Ibn Majah, no. 2656].
