The Prophet ﷺ said, "Return the trust to the one who entrusted you, and do not betray the one who betrayed you."
حدثنا أبو كريب حدثنا طلق بن غنام عن شريك وقيس عن أبي حصين عن أبي صالح
قال النبي ﷺ أد الأمانة إلى من ائتمنك ولا تخن من خانك
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud also narrated it in the Book of Business Transactions, Chapter on a Man Taking His Due from What Is Under His Control, hadith no. 3535, from the hadith of Talq bin Ghannam, through this route, and Hakim graded it sahih in al-Mustadrak: 2/46, according to the criterion of Muslim.
