The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to those who deal with measures and scales, "You have been entrusted with two matters in which the nations before you were destroyed."

[Its chain of transmission is very daif] Tabarani narrated it in Al-Kabir: 11/214, no. 11535, and Hakim: 2/31, from the hadith of Khalid, with the same wording. Hakim said, "Its chain of transmission is sahih," but Dhahabi said, "Husayn, they deemed him daif." Ibn Jawzi narrated it in Al-Ilal: 2/102, no. 972, through the route of Tirmidhi, with the same wording.
