The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sold a saddle blanket and a wooden cup, calling out, "Who will buy this saddle blanket and cup?"A man said, "I will take them for one dirham."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Who will offer more than a dirham? Who will offer more than a dirham?"Another man offered him two dirhams, so he sold them to him.
حدثنا حميد بن مسعدة أخبرنا عبيد الله بن شميط بن عجلان حدثنا الأخضر بن عجلان عن عبد الله الحنفي
أن رسول الله ﷺ باع حلسا وقدحا وقال من يشتري هذا الحلس والقدح فقال رجل أخذتهما بدرهم فقال النبي ﷺ من يزيد على درهم من يزيد على درهم فأعطاه رجل درهمين فباعهما منه

Its isnad is hasan. Abu Dawud transmitted it in the Book of Zakat, chapter on cases in which asking is permissible, no. 1641, as did Ibn Majah, no. 2198, and Nasai, no. 4512, from the hadith of Akhdar bin Ajlan, narrated in this manner. Abu Bakr Hanafi was deemed reliable by Tirmidhi and Ibn Hibban, and the hadith was graded sahih by Ibn Jarud, no. 569.
