The Prophet ﷺ said regarding the major sins, "Associating partners with Allah, disobedience to parents, killing a soul, and bearing false witness."

عن النبي ﷺ في الكبائر قال الشرك بالله وعقوق الوالدين وقتل النفس وقول الزور
Agreed upon [by Bukhari and Muslim]. Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith, chapter on major sins and the greatest of them, hadith 88, from the hadith of Khalid Ibn Harith, and Bukhari, hadith 2653, from the hadith of Shubah, with the same wording.On this topic there are also narrations from Abu Bakra [Bukhari, hadith 2654, and Muslim, hadith 87], Ayman bin Khuraym [to come, 2299], and Ibn Umar [Ibn Majah, hadith 2373].
