The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came out to us while we used to call ourselves brokers, and he said, "Company of merchants, Satan and sin are present at the sale, so mix your trading with charity."
حدثنا هناد حدثنا أبو بكر بن عياش عن عاصم عن أبي وائل
خرج علينا رسول الله ﷺ ونحن نسمى السماسرة فقال يا معشر التجار إن الشيطان والإثم يحضران البيع فشوبوا بيعكم بالصدقة
[Sahih]. Nasai also reported it, 14/7, 15, no. 3829, from the hadith of Asim bin Abu Najud, and Abu Dawud, no. 3326, and Ibn Majah, no. 2145, from the hadith of Shaqiq Abu Waail with the same wording. Ibn Jarud graded it sahih, no. 557, as did Hakim, 5/22, and Dhahabi agreed with him.On this same topic there is also a narration from Bara bin Azib [Bayhaqi in Shuab al-Iman, no. 4848] and from Rifa [to come, no. 1210].Abu Dawud also narrated it, no. 3326, from the hadith of Abu Muawiya, the blind, with the same wording, and Amash explicitly stated that he heard it directly, as recorded by Tahawi in Mushkil Athar, 13/3, 14, and a group of narrators followed him in transmitting it this way.
