Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ followed a funeral procession, he would not sit down until the body was placed in the grave. A Jewish scholar approached him and said, "This is how we do it, Muhammad."So the Messenger of Allah ﷺ sat down and said, "Differ from them."
Its chain of transmission is daif. Ibn Majah also narrated it in the Book of Funerals, the chapter on what has been said about standing for the funeral procession, hadith 1545, from Muhammad bin Bashshar with the same wording. Bishr bin Rafi is daif, Abdullah bin Sulayman is daif, and his father Sulayman bin Junada is munkar al-hadith (Taqrib). The hadith has corroborating witnesses.
