We came to Abdullah at midday and he said, "There will be rulers who become preoccupied and delay the prayer past its proper time, so pray it at its proper time."Then he stood and prayed with me beside him, and said, "This is how I saw the Messenger of Allah ﷺ do it."
أخبرنا محمد بن عبيد الكوفي عن محمد بن فضيل عن هارون بن عنترة عن عبد الرحمن بن الأسود
دخلنا على عبد الله نصف النهار فقال إنه سيكون أمراء يشتغلون عن وقت الصلاة فصلوا لوقتها ثم قام فصلى بيني وبينه فقال هكذا رأيت رسول الله ﷺ فعل
[Its chain is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, Chapter: If there are three, how should they stand, hadith no. 613, from the hadith of Muhammad bin Fudayl through this same route, and it is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 874.
