The Messenger of Allah ﷺ passed by me along with Abu Bakr, and Abu Bakr said to me, "Masud, go to Abu Tamim," meaning his master, "and tell him to provide us with a camel to ride, and to send us provisions and a guide to show us the way."So I went to my master and informed him, and he sent with me a camel and a leather skin of milk. I began leading them along hidden paths.When the time for prayer came, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ stood up to pray, and Abu Bakr stood on his right. By then I had come to know Islam, and I was with the two of them. I came forward and stood behind them, but the Messenger of Allah ﷺ gently pushed Abu Bakr's chest back, so we both stood behind him.Abu Abdul-Rahman said, "Burayda is not strong in hadith."
أخبرنا عبدة بن عبد الله قال حدثنا زيد بن الحباب قال حدثنا أفلح بن سعيد قال حدثنا بريدة بن سفيان بن فروة الأسلمي عن غلام لجده يقال له
مر بي رسول الله ﷺ وأبو بكر فقال لي أبو بكر يا مسعود ائت أبا تميم يعني مولاه فقل له يحملنا على بعير ويبعث إلينا بزاد ودليل يدلنا فجئت إلى مولاي فأخبرته فبعث معي ببعير ووطب من لبن فجعلت آخذ بهم في إخفاء الطريق وحضرت الصلاة فقام رسول الله ﷺ يصلي وقام أبو بكر عن يمينه وقد عرفت الإسلام وأنا معهما فجئت فقمت خلفهما فدفع رسول الله ﷺ في صدر أبي بكر فقمنا خلفه قال أبو عبد الرحمن بريدة هذا ليس بالقوي في الحديث

[Its isnad is daif]. Tabarani recorded it in al-Kabir (20/330–331), hadith no. 784, from the hadith of Zayd bin Hubab, with this wording. It is also found in al-Kubra, hadith no. 875, narrated by Burayda. The majority of scholars have graded it daif. As for two men praying behind the imam without standing level with him, that is sahih, as found in Sahih Muslim, Book of Zuhd, the chapter containing the long hadith of Jabir, the story of Abu Yusr, hadith no. 3010/74.
