He, along with a boy from the clan of Hashim, passed in front of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ while riding a donkey as the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying. They dismounted and joined him in prayer, and he did not interrupt his prayer. Then two girls from the clan of Abdul-Muttalib came running and grabbed hold of his knees. He gently separated them, and still did not break off his prayer.
أخبرنا أبو الأشعث قال حدثنا خالد قال حدثنا شعبة أن الحكم أخبره قال سمعت يحيى بن الجزار يحدث عن صهيب قال سمعت
أنه مر بين يدي رسول الله ﷺ هو وغلام من بني هاشم على حمار بين يدي رسول الله ﷺ وهو يصلي فنزلوا ودخلوا معه فصلوا ولم ينصرف فجاءت جاريتان تسعيان من بني عبد المطلب فأخذتا بركبتيه ففرع بينهما ولم ينصرف
[Its isnad is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on those who said a donkey does not invalidate prayer, hadith nos. 717 and 716, from the hadith of Hakam (see the previous hadith). It is also found in Kubra, hadith no. 830, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih (2/24, 25).
