Nafi reported,

I set out with Abdullah bin Umar on a journey, heading to some land of his, when a messenger came to him and said, "Safiya bint Abu Ubayd is gravely ill, so hurry if you wish to reach her in time."He set off in haste, accompanied by a man from Quraysh riding beside him. The sun set, but he did not stop to pray. I had always known him to be most careful about his prayers, so when he delayed, I said, "The prayer, may Allah have mercy on you!"He turned to me and continued on. Then, when only the last traces of twilight remained, he dismounted and prayed Maghrib. He then called the iqamah for Isha, by which time the twilight had completely disappeared, and led us in prayer.Afterward, he turned to us and said, "Whenever the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was pressed for time on a journey, he would do just like this."

أخبرنا محمود بن خالد قال حدثنا الوليد قال حدثنا ابن جابر قال

حدثني نافع قال

خرجت مع عبد الله بن عمر في سفر يريد أرضا فأتاه آت فقال إن صفية بنت أبي عبيد لما بها فانظر أن تدركها فخرج مسرعا ومعه رجل من قريش يسايره وغابت الشمس فلم يصل الصلاة وكان عهدي به وهو يحافظ على الصلاة فلما أبطأ قلت الصلاة يرحمك الله فالتفت إلي ومضى حتى إذا كان في آخر الشفق نزل فصلى المغرب ثم أقام العشاء وقد توارى الشفق فصلى بنا ثم أقبل علينا فقال إن رسول الله ﷺ كان إذا عجل به السير صنع هكذا
