The Messenger of Allah ﷺ, when traveling in haste, would delay the noon prayer until the time of the afternoon prayer and combine the two, and would delay the sunset prayer until he combined it with the night prayer once the twilight had disappeared.
أخبرني عمرو بن سواد بن الأسود بن عمرو قال أنبأنا ابن وهب قال حدثنا جابر بن إسمعيل عن عقيل عن ابن شهاب
عن رسول الله ﷺ أنه كان إذا عجل به السير يؤخر الظهر إلى وقت العصر فيجمع بينهما ويؤخر المغرب حتى يجمع بينها وبين العشاء حتى يغيب الشفق
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Prayer of the Traveler, Chapter on the Permissibility of Combining the Two Prayers While Traveling, hadith no. 48/704, from the hadith of Ibn Wahb, with the same chain, and it is also in Kubra, hadith no. 1566.
