The sun set while the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was in Makkah, and he combined the two prayers at Sarif.

[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud reported it in the chapter on prayer, section on combining the two prayers, hadith no. 1215, from the hadith of Yahya bin Muhammad, through this route.Abu Zubayr was a mudallis, as Nasai stated (Nubala 7/74) and others, and he narrated using ambiguous transmission wording, and I did not find an explicit statement of his having actually heard it.
