Its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on the time of the dawn prayer, no. 424, and Ibn Majah in the Book of Prayer, chapter on the time of the Fajr prayer, no. 672, from the hadith of Ibn Ajlan by this route, and it is also in Kubra, no. 1530. Tirmidhi graded it sahih, no. 154, as did Ibn Hibban. This hadith is abrogated, as mentioned before, no. 525.
