He saw a silver ring on the hand of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ for one day, so the people had rings made and wore them. Then the Prophet ﷺ threw his away, and the people threw theirs away as well.
أخبرنا محمد بن سليمان قراءة عن إبراهيم بن سعد عن ابن شهاب
أنه رأى في يد رسول الله ﷺ خاتما من ورق يوما واحدا فصنعوه فلبسوه فطرح النبي ﷺ وطرح الناس
Muslim reported it in the Book of Clothing, chapter on removing rings, hadith 2093, and Bukhari, in the Book of Clothing, hadith 5868, as a suspended narration (mualaqan), from the hadith of Ibrahim bin Saad, through the same chain.
