A man bit another man's hand, and as a result his front tooth was pulled out. The case was brought to the Prophet ﷺ, who declared the tooth's loss to be without compensation.
أخبرنا عبد الجبار بن العلاء بن عبد الجبار عن سفيان عن عمرو عن عطاء
أن رجلا عض يد رجل فانتزعت ثنيته فأتى النبي ﷺ فأهدرها
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Hiring, chapter on the hired worker in military expeditions, hadith no. 2265, and Muslim in the Book of Qasamah, chapter on one who attacks another person or his limb, when the one attacked repels him, etc., hadith no. 23/1674, from the hadith of Ibn Jurayj from Ata bin Abu Rabah with this wording. It is also found in al-Kubra, hadith no. 6968.Sufyan here is Ibn Uyayna, and there is a flaw in his hadith, and Amr here is Ibn Dinar.
