We were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey when we stopped at a place, and the people caught some lizards. I caught one, roasted it, and brought it to the Prophet ﷺ. He took a stick and began counting its fingers with it, then said, "A community from the Children of Israil was transformed into creatures on the earth, and I do not know which creatures they are."I said, "Messenger of Allah, the people have already eaten some of it."He neither ordered that it be eaten nor forbade it.
