On the day of Hunayn, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ took a tuft of hair from the side of a camel and said, "People, nothing of what Allah has granted you as spoils is lawful for me, not even the equivalent of this, except for the fifth, and even the fifth is returned to you."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, the name of Abu Salam is Mamtur, and he is Habashi, and the name of Abu Umama is Suday bin Ajlan. And Allah the Exalted knows best.
أخبرنا عمرو بن يحيى بن الحارث قال حدثنا محبوب يعني ابن موسى قال أنبأنا أبو إسحق وهو الفزاري عن عبد الرحمن بن عياش عن سليمان بن موسى عن مكحول عن أبي سلام عن أبي أمامة الباهلي
أخذ رسول الله ﷺ يوم حنين وبرة من جنب بعير فقال يا أيها الناس إنه لا يحل لي مما أفاء الله عليكم قدر هذه إلا الخمس والخمس مردود عليكم قال أبو عبد الرحمن اسم أبي سلام ممطور وهو حبشي واسم أبي أمامة صدي بن عجلان والله تعالى أعلم
[Sahih] Ahmad reported it: 5/319, from the hadith of Fazari through this same chain, and it is found in Kitab al-Siyar of Fazari, no. 517. Ibn Hibban graded it sahih, no. 1693. Its basis is found with Tirmidhi, no. 1561, and Ibn Majah graded it hasan, no. 2852, as did Hakim: 2/135, who graded it sahih according to the standard of Muslim, and Dhahabi agreed with him. The hadith has sahih corroborating narrations with Abu Dawud, no. 2755, and others.
