A group from the tribe of Urayna embraced Islam, but they fell ill in Madinah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to them, "If you went out to our herd of camels and drank from their milk..."Humayd said that Qatada reported from Anas, "...and their urine."So they did, and when they recovered their health, they renounced Islam after having embraced it. They killed the shepherd of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who was a believer, drove off the camels of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, and fled as enemies waging war. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ sent men who brought them back. He had their hands and feet cut off, their eyes branded with hot nails, and left them in the lava field until they died.
أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى قال حدثنا محمد بن أبي عدي قال حدثنا حميد
أسلم أناس من عرينة فاجتووا المدينة فقال لهم رسول الله ﷺ لو خرجتم إلى ذود لنا فشربتم من ألبانها قال حميد وقال قتادة عن أنس وأبوالها ففعلوا فلما صحوا كفروا بعد إسلامهم وقتلوا راعي رسول الله ﷺ مؤمنا واستاقوا ذود رسول الله ﷺ وهربوا محاربين فأرسل رسول الله ﷺ من أتى بهم فأخذوا فقطع أيديهم وأرجلهم وسمر أعينهم وتركهم في الحرة حتى ماتوا
