The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade us from a practice that was beneficial to us, but obedience to the Messenger of Allah ﷺ is better for you. He forbade us from sharecropping and said, "Whoever has land should grant it to someone or leave it." He also forbade muzabanah, which is when a man owns a large quantity of dates on his palm trees, and another man comes and buys them in exchange for such-and-such measures of dried dates.
أخبرنا محمد بن المثنى قال حدثنا محمد قال حدثنا شعبة عن منصور سمعت مجاهدا يحدث عن أسيد بن ظهير قال أتانا
نهانا رسول الله ﷺ عن أمر كان لنا نافعا وطاعة رسول الله ﷺ خير لكم نهاكم عن الحقل وقال من كانت له أرض فليمنحها أو ليدعها ونهى عن المزابنة والمزابنة الرجل يكون له المال العظيم من النخل فيجيء الرجل فيأخذها بكذا وكذا وسقا من تمر
