The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Avoid the seven destructive sins."Someone asked, "Messenger of Allah, what are they?"He replied, "Associating partners with Allah, sorcery, killing a soul whom Allah has forbidden to be killed except by right, consuming usury, devouring the property of an orphan, fleeing from the battlefield, and slandering chaste, unwary, believing women."
Muslim narrated it in the Book of Faith, chapter on major sins and the greatest of them, hadith 89, from the hadith of Ibn Wahb. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Bequests, chapter on the statement of Allah Most High, "Those who devour the property of orphans unjustly..." etc., hadith 2766, from the hadith of Sulayman bin Bilal, with the same wording. It is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith 6498.
