He gave a slave as a gift to his son, then came to the Prophet ﷺ to have him witness it. The Prophet ﷺ asked, "Have you given the same to all your children?"He replied, "No."The Prophet ﷺ said, "Then take it back." The wording is that of Muhammad.

Muslim narrated it in the book of gifts, chapter on the disapproval of favoring some children over others in gifts, hadith 11/1622-3, from Qutayba. Bukhari narrated it in the book of gifts, chapter on gifts to one's child, hadith 2586, from the hadith of Zuhri with the same wording. It is also in Kubra, hadith 6499.
