Abdullah bin Abbas reported,

When the verses "And do not approach the property of the orphan except in the best manner" [Anam 6:152] and "Indeed those who consume the property of orphans unjustly" [Nisa 4:10] were revealed, people began to keep away from an orphan's property and from eating with him. This became difficult for the Muslims, so they brought their complaint to the Prophet ﷺ, and Allah revealed, "They ask you about orphans. Say, setting their affairs right is better," up to His words, "He would have burdened you" [Baqarah 2:220].

عن ابن عباس قال

لما نزلت هذه الآية {ولا تقربوا مال اليتيم إلا بالتي هي أحسن} و {إن الذين يأكلون أموال اليتامى ظلما} قال اجتنب الناس مال اليتيم وطعامه فشق ذلك على المسلمين فشكوا ذلك إلى النبي ﷺ فأنزل الله {ويسألونك عن اليتامى قل إصلاح لهم خير} إلى قوله {لأعنتكم}
