The Messenger of Allah ﷺ married her while she was in the land of Abyssinia. The Negus gave her in marriage, set her dowry at four thousand, prepared her trousseau from his own resources, and sent her with Shurahbil bin Hasanah. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ did not send her anything himself. The dowry of his other wives was four hundred dirhams.
أخبرنا العباس بن محمد الدوري قال حدثنا علي بن الحسن بن شقيق قال أنبأنا عبد الله بن المبارك عن معمر عن الزهري عن عروة بن الزبير
أن رسول الله ﷺ تزوجها وهي بأرض الحبشة زوجها النجاشي وأمهرها أربعة آلاف وجهزها من عنده وبعث بها مع شرحبيل ابن حسنة ولم يبعث إليها رسول الله ﷺ بشيء وكان مهر نسائه أربع مائة درهم
[Its chain of transmission is daif] Abu Dawud narrated it in the Book of Marriage, chapter on the guardian, h: 2086, from the hadith of Mamar, in the same manner, and it is also in Kubra, h: 5512. Zuhri narrated it with an, indicating an undisclosed transmission.
