Umm Haram bint Milhan reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us and took a nap at our home. He woke up smiling, so I asked, "Messenger of Allah, may my father and mother be ransom for you, what makes you smile?"He replied, "I saw a group of my community sailing upon this sea like kings upon their thrones."I said, "Pray to Allah that He make me one of them."He said, "You are among them."Then he slept again and woke up smiling once more. I asked him about it, and he said something similar to what he had said before.I said, "Pray to Allah that He make me one of them."He replied, "You are among the first."She later married Ubada bin Samit, and she set sail with him across the sea. When she came ashore, a mule was brought forward for her. She mounted it, but it threw her off, and her neck was broken.
Bukhari reported it in the chapters on jihad, in the section on sailing the sea, hadith no. 2894, 2895, and Muslim, hadith no. 161/1912 (see the previous hadith narrated from Hammad bin Zayd on this same topic, and it is in al-Kubra, hadith no. 8140).
