Regarding the matter of the public treasury, Abdullah said, the Messenger of Allah ﷺ was praying near the Kabah while a group of nobles from Quraysh were sitting nearby. They had just slaughtered a camel, and one of them said, "Which of you will take this dung mixed with blood, wait until he places his face down in prostration, and then put it on his back?"Abdullah continued, the most wretched of them got up, took the filth, waited, and when the Prophet ﷺ fell into prostration, he placed it on his back. I was informed, then Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, who was a young girl at the time, was told. She came running and removed it from his back. When he finished his prayer, he said three times, "Allah, deal with Quraysh. Allah, deal with Abu Jahl bin Hisham, Shayba bin Rabia, Utba bin Rabia, and Uqba bin Abu Muayt," until he counted seven men of Quraysh.Abdullah said, by the One who revealed the Book to him, I saw them all slain on the day of Badr, cast together into a single pit.
