The Prophet ﷺ took the edge of his cloak, spat into it, and folded part of it over the other.
أخبرنا علي بن حجر قال حدثنا إسمعيل عن حميد
أن النبي ﷺ أخذ طرف ردائه فبصق فيه فرد بعضه على بعض
Bukhari narrated it in the Book of Prayer, in the chapter on scratching off spit from the masjid with the hand, hadith 405, from the hadith of Ismail bin Jafar, in full, and it is also in Kubra, hadith 297.Humayd Tawil made clear that he heard it directly, as recorded by Bukhari, hadith 241.
