His father reported that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ granted the herdsmen a concession regarding spending the night away from Mina, allowing them to throw the pebbles on the Day of Sacrifice, then to combine the throwing of the two following days into one of them.

Its isnad is sahih. Abu Dawud narrated it, no. 1975, and Tirmidhi in the book of Hajj, chapter on the concession allowing shepherds to pelt one day and leave it another day, no. 955, from the hadith of Malik through this route, and it is in the Muwatta (Yahya's version) 1/408, and in the Kubra, no. 4075. Tirmidhi said, hasan sahih. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 2975, as did Ibn Hibban, no. 1015, and Ibn Jarud, no. 478, and Hakim, 1/478, 3/420, and Dhahabi agreed with him.
