It was said to Abdullah bin Masud that some people were stoning the Jamrah from above the Aqaba. Abdullah then threw the pebbles from the bottom of the valley and said, "From here, by the One besides whom there is no god, did the one upon whom Surah al-Baqarah was revealed cast his stones."

قيل لعبد الله بن مسعود إن ناسا يرمون الجمرة من فوق العقبة قال فرمى عبد الله من بطن الوادي ثم قال من ها هنا والذي لا إله غيره رمى الذي أنزلت عليه سورة البقرة
Muslim reported it in the Book of Hajj, chapter on throwing pebbles at Jamra Uqba from the bottom of the valley, etc., hadith 1296, from the narration of Abul-Mihyat, and Bukhari reported it in the Book of Hajj, chapter on throwing pebbles from the bottom of the valley, hadith 1747, from the narration of Abdul-Rahman bin Yazid, with the same chain, and it is found in Kubra, hadith 4076.
