The Messenger of Allah ﷺ circled the House seven times, jogging during three of them and walking during four. Then he stood at the Station and prayed two units of prayer, reciting "And take from the Station of Ibrahim a place of prayer" [Baqarah 2:125], raising his voice so the people could hear. Then he left, touched the Black Stone, and went out, saying, "We begin with what Allah began with." So he began with Safa, climbing it until he could see the House. He said three times, "There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise. He gives life and causes death, and He is capable of all things." He magnified Allah and praised Him, then supplicated with whatever was decreed for him. Then he descended walking until his feet entered the bottom of the valley, where he ran until his feet ascended again. Then he walked until he came to Marwa. He climbed it, and when the House came into view, he said, "There is no god but Allah alone, with no partner. To Him belongs the dominion and to Him belongs all praise, and He is capable of all things." He said this three times, then remembered Allah, glorified Him, and praised Him, then supplicated upon it with whatever Allah willed. He did this until he finished the circuits.
