The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said on the day of the conquest, "This city was made sacred by Allah on the day He created the heavens and the earth, so it is sacred by the sanctity of Allah until the Day of Resurrection. Its thorny shrubs are not to be cut, its game is not to be startled, its lost property is not to be picked up except by one who will announce it, and its fresh grass is not to be uprooted."Abbas said, "Messenger of Allah, except for the idhkhir grass."He then uttered words to the effect, "Except for the idhkhir."
