Ayesha reported,

We set out intending nothing but the Hajj. When we reached Sarif, I began menstruating. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came in to me while I was weeping and asked, "Have you started menstruating?"I replied, "Yes."He said, "This is something Allah has decreed for the daughters of Adam. So perform all the rites that a pilgrim in ihram performs, except that you must not circumambulate the House."

خرجنا لا ننوي إلا الحج فلما كنا بسرف حضت فدخل علي رسول الله ﷺ وأنا أبكي فقال أحضت قلت نعم قال إن هذا شيء كتبه الله عز وجل على بنات آدم فاقضي ما يقضي المحرم غير أن لا تطوفي بالبيت
