By Allah, I forbid you from tamattu even though it is in the Book of Allah and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ performed it, meaning combining Amra with Hajj.

Its chain of transmission is sahih, and it is found in Kubra, hadith no. 3716. Ibn Kathir said, "The chain is good," (Musnad Faruq 1/304). Umar only forbade it because he considered it specific to the Prophet ﷺ, and this was his own personal judgment, and one who exercises personal judgment may err or be correct. Abu Hamza is al-Sukkari, and Mutarrif is Ibn Tarif.
