Abu Umama bin Sahl reported,
Regarding the verse in which Allah 
said, "And do not aim toward the defective of it, spending from that" [Baqarah 2:267], he said it refers to Juurur and Lawn Hubayq. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ forbade that inferior produce be taken as charity.

[Its isnad is hasan]. It is in Sunan al-Kubra, no. 2271. Abu Dawud also narrated it, no. 1607, from the hadith of Zuhri, from Abu Umama, from his father, in an abridged form. Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih, no. 2313.
