Umar said that the Messenger of Allah ﷺ ordered that charity be collected, and it was reported to him, "Ibn Jamil, Khalid bin Walid, and Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib have refused to give."The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "Ibn Jamil resents nothing except that he was once poor and Allah made him rich. As for Khalid bin Walid, you are being unfair to Khalid, for he has set aside his coats of mail and his equipment for the cause of Allah. As for Abbas bin Abdul-Muttalib, the uncle of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, the charity is due from him, and as much again with it."
