Umm Salama was asked whether a woman may bathe together with a man.She replied, "Yes, if she is discreet. I once saw myself and the Messenger of Allah ﷺ bathing from a single basin. We would pour water over our hands until they were clean, then pour the water over them."Araj said that she did not mention the private parts or concern herself with that.
أخبرنا سويد بن نصر قال حدثنا عبد الله عن سعيد بن يزيد قال سمعت عبد الرحمن بن هرمز الأعرج يقول
رضي الله عنها أن أم سلمة سئلت أتغتسل المرأة مع الرجل قالت نعم إذا كانت كيسة رأيتني ورسول الله ﷺ نغتسل من مركن واحد نفيض على أيدينا حتى ننقيهما ثم نفيض عليها الماء قال الأعرج لا تذكر فرجا ولا تباله
[Its chain is sahih] Ahmad narrated it: 6/323, from the hadith of Abdullah, who is Ibn Mubarak, through this route, and it is in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 239.
