The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to us one day, so we said, "Some hays was gifted to us, and we set aside a portion of it for you."He said, "I am fasting," then he broke his fast.
أخبرنا أحمد بن حرب قال حدثنا قاسم قال حدثنا سفيان عن طلحة بن يحيى عن عائشة بنت طلحة
أتانا رسول الله ﷺ يوما فقلنا أهدي لنا حيس قد جعلنا لك منه نصيبا فقال إني صائم فأفطر
Muslim reported it in Sahih Muslim, the Book of Fasting, the chapter on the permissibility of fasting a voluntary fast with an intention formed during the day before noon, etc., hadith no. 1154, from the hadith of Talha bin Yahya through this route, and it is also in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith no. 2634.
