The Messenger of Allah ﷺ would come and ask, "Do you have any breakfast?"We would say, "No."He would then say, "I am fasting."One day he came to us when some hays had been gifted to us. He asked, "Do you have anything?"We replied, "Yes, some hays was gifted to us."He said, "I had begun the morning intending to fast," but then he ate.Qasim bin Yazid differed with him in narrating this.
أخبرنا عبد الله بن الهيثم قال حدثنا أبو بكر الحنفي قال حدثنا سفيان عن طلحة بن يحيى عن مجاهد
كان رسول الله ﷺ يجيء ويقول هل عندكم غداء فنقول لا فيقول إني صائم فأتانا يوما وقد أهدي لنا حيس فقال هل عندكم شيء قلنا نعم أهدي لنا حيس قال أما إني قد أصبحت أريد الصوم فأكل خالفه قاسم بن يزيد
