Ayesha reported,

Fatimah bint Abu Hubaysh experienced prolonged irregular bleeding, so she asked the Prophet ﷺ about it.She said, "Messenger of Allah, I bleed continuously and never become pure. Should I abandon the prayer?"The Messenger of Allah ﷺ replied, "That is only a vein, not menstruation. When your menstrual period comes, leave off the prayer, and when it passes, wash the blood from yourself, perform ablution, and pray, for that is only a vein, not menstruation."Someone asked him, "And the full bath?"He answered, "No one has any doubt about that."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, I do not know of anyone who mentioned "and perform ablution" in this hadith except Hammad bin Zayd. Several others narrated it from Hisham and did not mention "and perform ablution" in it.

أخبرنا يحيى بن حبيب بن عربي قال حدثنا حماد وهو ابن زيد عن هشام بن عروة عن أبيه

عن عائشة رضي الله عنها قالت

استحيضت فاطمة بنت أبي حبيش فسألت النبي ﷺ فقالت يا رسول الله إني أستحاض فلا أطهر أفأدع الصلاة قال رسول الله ﷺ إنما ذلك عرق وليست بالحيضة فإذا أقبلت الحيضة فدعي الصلاة وإذا أدبرت فاغسلي عنك أثر الدم وتوضئي فإنما ذلك عرق وليست بالحيضة قيل له فالغسل قال ذلك لا يشك فيه أحد قال أبو عبد الرحمن لا أعلم أحدا ذكر في هذا الحديث وتوضئي غير حماد بن زيد وقد روى غير واحد عن هشام ولم يذكر فيه وتوضئي
