While we were walking with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ, he caught sight of a woman, and we did not think he recognized her. When he reached the middle of the road, he stopped until she came up to him, and there she was, Fatimah, the daughter of the Messenger of Allah ﷺ.He said to her, "What has brought you out of your house, Fatimah?"She replied, "I came to the family of this deceased person to offer them prayers of mercy and to console them for their loss."He asked, "Perhaps you went with them as far as the graves?"She answered, "Allah forbid that I should have gone that far, when I have heard you say what you say about that."He said to her, "Had you gone there with them, you would not have seen Paradise until your father's grandfather sees it."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, Rabia is weak.
أخبرنا عبيد الله بن فضالة بن إبراهيم قال حدثنا عبد الله هو ابن يزيد المقرئ ح وأنبأنا محمد بن عبد الله بن يزيد المقريء قال حدثنا أبي قال سعيد حدثني ربيعة بن سيف المعافري عن أبي عبد الرحمن الحبلي
بينما نحن نسير مع رسول الله ﷺ إذ بصر بامرأة لا تظن أنه عرفها فلما توسط الطريق وقف حتى انتهت إليه فإذا فاطمة بنت رسول الله ﷺ قال لها ما أخرجك من بيتك يا فاطمة قالت أتيت أهل هذا الميت فترحمت إليهم وعزيتهم بميتهم قال لعلك بلغت معهم الكدى قالت معاذ الله أن أكون بلغتها وقد سمعتك تذكر في ذلك ما تذكر فقال لها لو بلغتها معهم ما رأيت الجنة حتى يراها جد أبيك قال أبو عبد الرحمن ربيعة ضعيف
[Its chain of transmission is hasan] Abu Dawud narrated it in the chapters on Funerals, the chapter on condolence, hadith no. 3123, through another route from Rabia bin Sayf, and the majority of scholars deemed him reliable, and the ruling in favor of his reliability is the stronger view, as I established in Nayl al-Maqsud, part 2, page 714, hadith no. 3123, so he is hasan al-hadith. It is also found in Al-Kubra, hadith no. 2007, and Hakim graded it sahih according to the standard of the two Shaykhs, 1/373, 374, and Dhahabi agreed with him, while Munziri and Haythami graded it hasan.
