The Prophet ﷺ went out on the day of Eid and prayed two rakahs, neither praying before nor after them.
Muslim narrated it in the Book of the Two Eid Prayers, chapter on not praying before or after the Eid prayer at the prayer ground, hadith 884, after hadith 890, from the hadith of Abdullah bin Idris. Bukhari narrated it in the Book of the Two Eids, chapter on the sermon after the Eid prayer, hadith 964, from the hadith of Shubah, with the same wording. It is also found in Sunan al-Kubra, hadith 1792.
