A man asked him, "Did you witness the going out for the Eid prayer with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ?"He replied, "Yes, and were it not for my close relation to him, I would not have witnessed it, given how young I was. He came to the marker near the house of Kathir bin Salt and prayed, then delivered the sermon, then went over to the women and exhorted them, reminded them, and ordered them to give in charity. A woman would reach her hand to her throat and drop her ornament into Bilal's garment."

له رجل شهدت الخروج مع رسول الله ﷺ قال نعم ولولا مكاني منه ما شهدته يعني من صغره أتى العلم الذي عند دار كثير بن الصلت فصلى ثم خطب ثم أتى النساء فوعظهن وذكرهن وأمرهن أن يتصدقن فجعلت المرأة تهوي بيدها إلى حلقها تلقي في ثوب بلال
