I sat at his door, and when he came out he asked, "What brings you here?"I replied, "I am seeking knowledge."He said, "The angels lower their wings for the seeker of knowledge out of pleasure with what he seeks." Then he asked, "What do you wish to ask about?"I said, "About the leather socks."He said, "When we were with the Messenger of Allah ﷺ on a journey, he commanded us not to take them off for three days except from major ritual impurity, but not for relieving ourselves, urinating, or sleeping."
