The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said, "Whoever performs ablution on Friday, that is sufficient and excellent, and whoever takes a full bath, the bath is better."Abu Abdul-Rahman said, Hasan transmitted from Samura through a written record, and Hasan did not hear directly from Samura except for the hadith of the aqiqah. And Allah the Exalted knows best.
[Hasan] Tirmidhi narrated it in the Book of Prayer, chapter on what has been said about wudu on Friday, hadith no. 497, from the hadith of Shuba with this wording, and he said, "Hasan." It is also found in al-Kubra, hadith no. 1684, and Ibn Khuzayma graded it sahih.Hasan's narration from Samura is sahih, because it is a transmission from a book, and transmission from a book is valid, as I established in Nayl Maqsud, hadith no. 354. I later found an explicit statement that Hasan Basri heard this hadith directly from Samura. It was also narrated by Abu Ali Hasan bin Ali bin Nasr Tusi in Mukhtasar Ahkam, a mustakhraj on Jami Tirmidhi, 3/10, hadith no. 334/467.Praise be to Allah, and the hadith has corroborating witnesses.
