Abu Waail reported,

We were with Usama bin Zayd when a man said to him, "What keeps you from going in to Uthman and speaking with him?"Usama replied, "Do you think that I speak to him only when you can hear me? By Allah, I have spoken to him privately, between him and me, short of opening up a matter that I would not wish to be the first to open. And I do not tell any man who is set over me as a ruler that he is the best of people, not after what I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say.He said, 'On the Day of Resurrection a man will be brought and cast into the Fire, and his bowels will spill out, and he will circle around with them the way a donkey circles a millstone. The people of the Fire will gather around him and say, So-and-so, what is wrong with you? Did you not command what is right and forbid what is wrong? And he will answer, Yes indeed. I used to command what is right and not do it myself, and forbid what is wrong and do it myself.'"
