I heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "All of my community will be pardoned except those who flaunt their sins. Among the forms of flaunting is that a servant commits a deed by night, and his Lord conceals it for him by morning, yet he says, 'So-and-so, last night I did such and such.' He spent the night with his Lord covering him, and he wakes up casting off the covering Allah had placed over him."Zuhayr said, "And among the forms of flaunting..."
حدثني زهير بن حرب ومحمد بن حاتم وعبد بن حميد قال عبد حدثني و قال الآخران حدثنا يعقوب بن إبراهيم حدثنا ابن أخي ابن شهاب عن عمه قال قال سالم سمعت
ا سمعت رسول الله ﷺ يقول كل أمتي معافاة إلا المجاهرين وإن من الإجهار أن يعمل العبد بالليل عملا ثم يصبح قد ستره ربه فيقول يا فلان قد عملت البارحة كذا وكذا وقد بات يستره ربه فيبيت يستره ربه ويصبح يكشف ستر الله عنه قال زهير وإن من الهجار
