Humayd bin Abdul-Rahman bin Awf reported,

His mother, Umm Kulthum bint Uqba bin Abu Muayt, who was among the first women emigrants to pledge allegiance to the Prophet ﷺ, informed him that she heard the Messenger of Allah ﷺ say, "The one who reconciles between people, and says something good, and passes on something good, is not a liar."Ibn Shihab said, "I did not hear any allowance made for anything the people call lying, except in three cases, in war, in reconciling between people, and in a man's talk with his wife and a woman's talk with her husband."In the report of Salih she said, "I did not hear him permit anything of what people say, except in three cases," the same as what Yunus attributed to the words of Ibn Shihab.
