Sahl bin Saad reported,

A man from the family of Marwan was appointed governor over Madinah. He summoned Sahl bin Saad and ordered him to curse Ali, but Sahl refused. The governor said to him, "If you refuse, then at least say, 'May Allah curse Abu Turab.'"Sahl replied, "Ali had no name dearer to him than Abu Turab. He used to rejoice whenever he was called by it."The governor said, "Tell us his story. Why was he called Abu Turab?"Sahl said, "The Messenger of Allah ﷺ came to Fatimah's house but did not find Ali there. He asked, 'Where is your cousin?'She replied, 'Something happened between us. He got angry with me and went out. He did not take his midday rest here.'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ said to a man, 'Look and see where he is.'The man came back and said, 'Messenger of Allah, he is in the mosque, asleep.'The Messenger of Allah ﷺ went to him and found him lying down, his cloak having slipped off his side so that dust had clung to him. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ began wiping the dust off him, saying, 'Get up, Abu Turab. Get up, Abu Turab.'"
