Saeed bin Musayab reported,

Muawiya came to Medina, delivered a sermon to us, and brought out a tuft of hair. He said, "I never thought anyone would do this except the Jews. The Messenger of Allah ﷺ was informed about it and called it deception."

حدثنا أبو بكر بن أبي شيبة حدثنا غندر عن شعبة ح و حدثنا ابن المثنى وابن بشار قالا حدثنا محمد بن جعفر حدثنا شعبة عن عمرو بن مرة

عن سعيد بن المسيب قال

قدم معاوية المدينة فخطبنا وأخرج كبة من شعر فقال ما كنت أرى أن أحدا يفعله إلا اليهود إن رسول الله ﷺ بلغه فسماه الزور
