One day he said, "You have introduced an evil fashion, for the Prophet of Allah ﷺ forbade falsification."A man then came carrying a staff with a rag tied to its top, and Muawiya said, "Behold, this is the falsification!"Qatada explained that this referred to the rags with which women would pad out their hair to make it appear fuller.
